From 2018-2020, he served as a core coordinator for the Washington DC chapter of the Extinction Rebellion movement, where he helped grow the group from a handful of dedicated activists to a powerful disruptive force. He has also worked as a researcher for various groups, including The Climate Mobilization and Global Energy Monitor. Russell graduated with a B.A. in Government and Economics from Cornell University. He currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri, where he is involved with local struggles for housing justice and climate justice.
